Great Wall Of China charity film begins pre-production

I have begun pre-production in earnest on an exciting project being shot later this year. I feel very passionate about this one and am delighted it can now enter it’s next phase.

In 2004 Julie Atherton was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a double mastecomy and 6 months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Unfortunately in 2005 the cancer returned . 7 years on and Julie still has breast cancer – but lives her life to the absolute full.

So much so that she, and her fiance David Brown are undertaking a trek across the Great Wall of China later this year. David sadly lost his first wife to cancer several years before and the pair make a dedicated, determined and inspiring team in their efforts to raise money and awareness with this trek – in support of the North West Cancer Research Fund.

I am working with them to offer resources and time to produce a documentary of their trek, which we aim to use to raise yet further awareness and funds after the event itself.

It promises to be an inspiring and heartful journey that we can share with them and I am planning an unusual direction for the presenation and structure which will make the piece interesting to a wider audience if all goes to plan.

I will update with more developments as the production progresses.
