I began working in film and creative media in 2006.
I did not go to film school. I learnt how to make films from self-study and late night hours building my skills.
My first film was an 80 minute feature, shot for fun, which remarkably received a broadcast option.
On the back of this falling-into-filmmaking accident I co-founded a production company, Troika+Ltd, and with my colleagues we purchased equipment, made the move to HD (which was a new thing back then kids), and sought an official commission.
We got our first commission within 12 months of establishment through sheer determination and passion for film-making.
I have worked on projects for Paramount Comedy Channel, Channel 5 (UK), Sky (UK), British Airways, GoPro, Apple, Current TV, and The Guardian to name but a few. (A list of a small selection of my favourite clients can be found here).
I have worked on commissions for large scale corporations including Apple, to helping those without the tools put together a video for a their family, get their film-making career off the ground or setup a website for their project or company.
I produce. I direct. I write. I edit. I score. I fly drones. I operate cameras. I create digital FX. I make the tea and I sweep the floor. (A full list of my services can be found here).
I have lectured at local universities on film-making and digital FX and also worked to develop film-school graduates in obtaining real paid work to build their skills and contribute to the independent scene.
I am based in Sheffield, UK and my services reach as far as USA, Canada, South Africa and beyond. I continue to balance paid commissions with self-funded projects and charitable work, utilizing a network of freelance artists and sharing talent, and I entertain projects large and small if they present opportunities to learn and develop.
